Marc Spackman represented Great Britain at the Sydney 2000
Olympics. He swam the third leg as part of the GB Team that
were placed second going into the final length of the 4x200m
freestyle final behind the dominant Australians. With four
teams competing for the silver and gold the Brits were edged
out into fifth. The quartet of Ed Sinclair, Paul Palmer
(also from Lincolnshire), Marc and James Salter clocked
7:17:98 to shatter the two-year-old British record by well
over four seconds. |
